Global Citizen Festival is back in a big way this year, and you can get involved no matter where you are in the world.

With a new mission that’s more urgent than ever, Global Citizen is embarking on a bold campaign to end extreme poverty NOW that spans the world, and we need you and your voice to make a difference.

Our goal is to achieve an ambitious policy agenda focusing on empowering girls and women, taking climate action, breaking systemic barriers that keep people in poverty, and lifting up activists and advocates. And we’re calling on world leaders, corporations, and philanthropists to do more than they’ve ever done before.

Our global campaign will feature festival stages in two iconic locations — NYC’s Central Park and Accra’s Black Star Square — on Sept. 24, and it will be an unprecedented opportunity to unite world leaders, artists, and activists to create change.

But you don't have to be there in person to participate. No matter where you live, you can still take part in the global campaign to end extreme poverty NOW and make your voice heard.

Below, we’ve outlined several ways you can get involved right now — and stay tuned, because there will be more ways to participate in the coming days and weeks.

1. Take action and join challenges to end extreme poverty NOW.

Global Citizen Festival may be the pinnacle of our 2022 campaign to end extreme poverty NOW, but we need Global Citizens around the world to demand change.

Keep taking action to push countries to further invest in women and girls, call on world leaders to keep their promises to finance climate solutions for the world’s most vulnerable, get African farmers the support they need to respond to the global food crisis, and much more. By taking action, you could also earn a chance to earn some sweet Global Citizen Rewards

And make sure you download the Global Citizen app to take challenges that help you tackle the causes and consequences of extreme poverty in your own life, such as Climate Conversation Starter and Hunger Crisis 101.

2. Tell us #WhyITakeAction.

If you're a Global Citizen, chances are you — like most of us — have a fire in your belly that inspires you to create a better world, and we want to know what put it there.

Whether it was a person, a trip, or a life-changing experience you've had with your community, express that passion by leaving a message explaining why you take action with Global Citizen and sharing it on your socials. We’ll retweet the best responses from @GlblCtzn!

3. Tune in to our Twitter Spaces and Instagram Live conversations.

As part of our campaign, we're sparking global conversations on what it will take to end extreme poverty NOW by bringing activists, leaders, and artists to the table through Twitter Spaces and Instagram Live.

From climate change to LGBTQ+ rights, we're addressing some of the biggest issues facing our planet today and hearing directly from the people working on solutions. If you can't make it to the show in person, you can still join the conversation by following us on Twitter and Instagram. There, we’ll give you a heads up when you can expect the next conversations to take place!

4. Test your Global Citizen knowledge with Trivia Tuesdays.

Can you believe it's been 10 years since the first Global Citizen Festival in NYC? That's something worth celebrating, and we're doing just that by hosting a series of special Trivia Tuesdays on our Instagram Stories.

Join us on Instagram every Tuesday to test your knowledge of the Global Citizen movement!

5. Follow us on our regional channels for all the latest updates and news.

If you're worried about missing out on any of the action, don’t worry. We have a team of passionate international editors and social managers — in the UK, Canada, Germany, Latin America, Africa, and Australia — who will be covering every stage of our campaign.

We'll be sharing all the latest updates and tidbits of the show on our socials, so be sure to follow the channel of the nearest Global Citizen hub to find out what's going on.

6. Support our regional response partners.

Our Regional Response Network in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa is made up of vetted NGO partners, selected based on their ability to achieve tangible outcomes to achieve the objectives of our End Extreme Poverty NOW campaign. They're crucial to changing people's lives and creating real impact among the most vulnerable communities — and we're calling on the private and philanthropic sector to support them.

You can support them, too. If you have the means, you can donate to one or more organizations through our partnership with GlobalGiving.

7. Earn badges for taking action.

Our community of Global Citizens has helped us and our partners make an incredible impact. That’s why we’ve added badges to your profiles in the Global Citizen app to celebrate you for taking action and going above and beyond.

Whether you’re sending tweets to world leaders, signing petitions, or completing challenges to tackle extreme poverty in your everyday life, badges are a unique way to let the world know you’re a part of the Global Citizen movement. Plus, if you take action on all the key pillars of our End Extreme Poverty NOW campaign (Empower Girls NOW, Take Climate Action NOW, and Break Systemic Barriers NOW), you’ll get a super badge!

Who doesn’t like a little digital pat on the back? Check out your profile and the badges you’ve earned through the Global Citizen app and website today!

8. Watch the Global Citizen Festival wherever you are!

You don’t need to be in New York or Accra to see our pop-and-policy model in action. Anyone, anywhere can watch the show on Sept. 24 from the comfort of their own homes, with global broadcasts and livestreams airing on ABC, ABC News Live, FX, Hulu, iHeartRadio, TimesLIVE, Twitter, YouTube, and more.

Additional info on how you can tune in to the show will be announced in the coming weeks, so watch this space!
