A few days ago, I wrote an article calling out the US for not taking enough refugees from Syria. Now, Salma Hayek Pinault, the co-founder of CHIME FOR CHANGE, is sending a strong message to European leaders asking them to welcome refugees fleeing the crisis in Syria.

Over 6.5 million refugees from Syria are displaced from homes currently. Civil war rages on in Syria and more people in need of help are leaving the country each day.

Germany has pledged to accept 500,000 refugees for each of the next few years. But further action needs to be taken by world leaders (and yes that includes my home country of the US) to help displaced and migrating refugees from Syria.

In this video, Salma Hayek Pinault co-founder of CHIME FOR CHANGE calls on Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron and the President of France François Hollande to “welcome a fair share of refugees”.

Salma Hayek Pinault knows firsthand the devastating effects the war in Syria has had on families and children who have and found refuge in neighboring countries. She joined UNICEF and visited a Syrian refugee camp in Lebanon in April 2015 to raise funds for Gucci’s CHIME FOR CHANGE campaign.

You can join Salma Hayek Pinault in supporting the needs of Syrian refugees by taking action.

Go to TAKE ACTION NOW and send a tweet to encourage The Netherlands to step up and support refugees.
