Global Citizen Live, unser 24-stündiges, globales Event, zog einen Tag vor der Bundestagswahl Zuschauer*innen aus der ganzen Welt an, ob vor Ort oder von Zuhause im Livestream. Gemeinsam mit Aktivist*innen, Entscheidungsträger*innen aus Politik, Wirtschaft oder Philanthropie und vor allem mit über 70 Weltstars haben wir zum Handeln aufgerufen, um die Umwelt zu schützen und Armut zu beenden.
Rund um die Welt tanzte und sang das geimpfte, getestete und/oder genesene Publikum und feierte die lang erwartete Rückkehr zu Live-Musik-Events. Von New York City bis Lagos, von Paris bis Rio de Janeiro – auf sieben Kontinenten und sogar von der Raumstation ISS gab es unglaubliche Auftritte und Beiträge.
Global Citizen Live ist ein wichtiger Meilenstein für den Schutz unserer Umwelt und der Bekämpfung von Armut. Dank der harten Arbeit vieler Partnerorganisationen wurden am 25. September bei dem 24-stündigen globalen Event wichtige Zusagen gemacht: Mehr als 1,1 Milliarden US-Dollar, 157 Millionen Bäume und 60 Millionen COVID-19-Impfdosen wurden verkündet.
