Bryan Stevenson has been selected by our committee to receive the Global Citizen of the Year award in recognition of his incredible work through the Equal Justice Initiative fighting on behalf of wrongly convicted and unfairly sentenced citizens and for his dedication to public education on the history of racial discrimination.

The Global Citizen of the Year award recognizes an individual who has proven exceptional and sustained impact toward the goal of ending extreme poverty. This individual’s body of work as well as their work in 2020 must be extraordinary in its scope.

Richard Curtis
Alongside working as a Oscar-nominated screenwriter, producer, and director, Richard Curtis has also tirelessly worked to champion a just world without extreme poverty. Through his organizations and campaigns Comic Relief, Sport Relief, Red Nose Day, and Project Everyone, Curtis has engaged millions of people in the fight against poverty.
