With each action you take to end extreme poverty, you earn points that can be used to enter draws to win amazing prizes. Before we dive right into the whole process of earning these points, let’s back up a bit. 

What Is Taking Action All About?

Taking action to end extreme poverty might seem daunting or even impossible at first, but under significant pressure from citizens everywhere, governments, businesses, and philanthropists can be persuaded to mobilize the funds and resources needed to end extreme poverty worldwide. 

This is the belief at the heart of Global Citizen’s mission.

“Taking action” with Global Citizen involves performing relatively simple acts — signing petitions, taking quizzes to learn more about global issues, contacting your political representatives, sharing social media posts, and more — that together add up to tremendous collective power to shape the world we live in by putting pressure on world leaders to do more and do better.

The best way to get started is to download our app, register as a Global Citizen, and start taking action right away. With the app, you’ll also get exclusive access to our challenges. You can also sign up on our website or via WhatsApp to take action.

How You Can Earn Points and Level Up

You earn points for every action you take to end extreme poverty. All these points can be accumulated to enter the Global Citizen Rewards draws, starting at 10 points per entry. 

Here’s the fun part. The more actions you take, the more you level up and unlock bigger rewards. 

There are three levels — Silver, Gold, Platinum, and there’s a reward for every level. Silver gets you a single entry per draw, Gold lets you enter up to 5 entries and score bonus points, and Platinum allows unlimited entries with extra bonus points to maximize your winning chances. 
You must take at least one action each month to stay in the Silver level, allowing you to enter rewards for the current and following month. Skip a month of taking action and you’ll drop back one level.

Reaching the highest level at Platinum will give you the best shot at winning very exclusive rewards. All you need to do is take five actions per month, every month, to stay at this level.

What About the Rewards?

Global Citizen Rewards are the sweetest part of taking action. Imagine winning meet and greets with superstars like Usher and Hugh Jackman, getting exclusive signed merchandise, or earning special multiple day VIP tickets for major festivals like Lollapalooza. These are the kind of wins that are genuinely satisfying, memorable, fun, and totally worth sharing with friends and family!

We have new rewards rolled out on the first day of every month. Each reward will notify you when the final draw will take place, and you can check the app to see if you’ve won. You will also receive an email containing all the important details about your win. 

Every winner needs to claim their win in 48 hours or another Global Citizen will be selected. So, make sure you turn on push notifications for the Global Citizen app, and add rewards@globalcitizen.com and gcrewards@globalcitizen.com to your contact list to ensure you receive these notifications.

The best way to locate your rewards is via the Global Citizen app. All you need to do is find the little gift symbol in the upper right corner and you are in your personal rewards home — showing all available tickets, products, subscriptions, gift cards, and celebrity experiences. Take action, earn points, and use them to enter your favorite rewards. But no cheating — multiple accounts are not allowed. Anyone over 18 years old can participate with a Global Citizen account.

What If I Don’t Win Any Rewards?

If you don’t win any rewards, we’ve got you covered. You’ll be recognized with Global Citizen Badges. These badges have different names — Action Hero, Equity Champ, Mission Supporter, Planet Defender, and Crowd Creator — based on the actions you've taken, journeys completed, rewards entered, or if you made it to the top of our Action Leaderboards. You can find the badges on your profile.

The coolest thing about these badges is that for every badge you earn, you receive 5 points which you can use to enter to win amazing rewards.
