Why Global Citizens Should Care
Ending the COVID-19 pandemic requires all countries to have equitable access to vaccine doses. Initiatives like COVAX can help ensure COVID-19 vaccines reach every person that needs them, but not without support from government leaders, corporations, philanthropists, and Global Citizens everywhere demanding vaccine equity. Join us by taking action to help end the pandemic here.

When Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, walked on stage at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on May 2, the din that rose from the thousands of fully-vaccinated frontline health care and essential workers in the crowd was stunning.

It was so electric, in fact, that the noise reverberated all over the world. As people woke up across the Atlantic, the standing ovation given to the Duke at Global Citizen’s VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World was trending internationally — especially in the UK.

“Tonight is a celebration of each of you here, the vaccinated frontline workers in the audience and the millions of frontline heroes around the world,” Prince Harry said. “You spent the last year battling courageously and selflessly to protect us all. You served and sacrificed, put yourselves in harm's way, and acted with bravery knowing the costs. We owe you an incredible debt of gratitude. Thank you.”

From May 8, the show — pre-taped at SoFi Stadium — will be airing in over 100 countries across North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe, working to inspire vaccine confidence worldwide and help get COVID-19 vaccines to everyone, everywhere by calling for commitments from governments, the private sector, and philanthropists.

Hosted by multi-platinum recording artist, actress, and producer Selena Gomez, the VAX LIVE broadcast special will feature musical performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, and H.E.R. Special guests from around the world will also speak about the importance of vaccine equity, including Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, David Letterman, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel, Nomzamo Mbatha, Olivia Munn, and Sean Penn.

The broadcast will also see Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, delivering an important global message for vaccine equity during the event, in their role as Campaign Chairs of VAX LIVE.

The show is airing and streaming in the UK from Sunday May 9 — and there’s a few ways you can tune in and watch.
