If we don’t get COVID-19 vaccines to the world’s most vulnerable countries straight away, it won’t just prolong the pandemic for everyone — it also means the historic work rolling out over a billion vaccines already could potentially go to waste.
That’s why Global Citizen is putting on VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World, a super-gig featuring the world's biggest stars to demand that world leaders, businesses, and philanthropists urgently address the immediate crisis of vaccine inequity.
It’s a TV and streaming special and a call to action to get vaccines to the world’s most marginalized people.
Hosted by multi-platinum recording artist, actress, and producer Selena Gomez, the VAX LIVE broadcast special premiering on May 8 will feature musical performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, and H.E.R. Special guests from around the world will also speak about the importance of vaccine equity, including Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, David Letterman, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel, Nomzamo Mbatha, Olivia Munn, and Sean Penn.
And that’s not forgetting that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will be serving as campaign chairs, meaning they’ll be helping Global Citizen bring even more of the private sector to the table to get vaccines to the countries presently being left in the shade.
It’s going to be an incredible night of entertainment and activism. For information about how to watch, wherever you are in the world, check out all the listings below.
