Food security will exist when everyone has access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food at all times, but we know that the world is far from achieving this. The global pandemic, climate crisis and economic shocks have led to severe and widespread increases in hunger, plunging more people into extreme poverty.
Youth from across the world are joining hands to combat hunger, improve health and heal the planet. #Act4Food and #Act4Change are collective forces of young people that urge all — governments, businesses, UN agencies, and youth — to act boldly and promptly in fighting for innovative ideas and solutions to make existing food systems more equitable.
In a form of a simple pledge, this campaign brings together young people to focus on their personal actions as a contribution to system change, but they need our help to ensure their voices are heard.
In September, they will handover this pledge at the United Nations Food Systems Summit – a summit to mobilise people to shape a world in which everyone can benefit from good food, while simultaneously protecting nature, tackling climate change, and promoting human rights.
