The coronavirus pandemic is upending daily life for millions of people worldwide.
As the crisis gets worse, many in our communities — the elderly, young struggling families, or even your quiet neighbour next door — are facing challenges.
With governments encouraging people to stay at home, isolation and loneliness are seriously affecting many. Alongside this, the lack of business for cafés, restaurants, musicians and more mean people are already losing their jobs or having to stay away from work without sick pay — leaving them worried about where their next paycheck will come from.
The good news is that we as humans can be pretty incredible in times of need. Amid the growing crisis, communities are showing inspiring solidarity — from organising community sing-alongs to helping the most vulnerable face challenges.
At Global Citizen — as well as calling on leaders to take urgent action to tackle the pandemic — we’ve launched #TogetherAtHome for musicians to livestream intimate concerts and create a sense of hope for our global community in increasingly dark times.
Now, we want to help you do what you can too. That’s why we’ve created a list of everything, from donating to your local food bank to remote companionship, that you can do to help others as we face the challenges ahead.
Check out our list and share it with friends and family now on twitter — if we are going to spread anything, let’s make sure it’s kindness. Tweet now!
