Unjani Clinics NPC raises donor funding to empower black women professional nurses to own and operate primary healthcare container clinics in the township communities of South Africa. Due to doctor resource shortages, the need to shift tasks to professional nurses to perform basic primary healthcare with referral to doctors when outside the nurses scope of practice, has escalated. Nurses are empowered as healthcare providers, taught to run sustainable businesses and create employment in their communities.
Unjani Clinics is taking action through the establishment and implementation of an innovative primary healthcare service delivery disruptor model. Our long term goal is to expand the Unjani Clinic Network to 750 or more Clinics by 2030, which will provide real health impact, reach many more lives and create more permanent employment.
