Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases is a global partnership of dedicated organisations working to beat neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and improve the lives of over a billion people. This diverse partnership of over 100 organisations, from industry, bilateral, multi-lateral donors, trusts and foundations, NGOs and academic institutions was established in 2012 in support of the WHO Roadmap on NTDs and formalised through the signing of the London Declaration on NTDs.
Neglected tropical diseases affect over 1 billion of the world’s poorest and neglected populations. That’s 1 in 7 of the global population! NTDs disfigure and disable, they keep children out of school and parents out of work. Global Action on NTDs is critical, if we are to achieve Universal Health Coverage and the SDGS. Global Citizen with its platform for action, can contribute significantly to rallying the global community and in supporting the efforts of Uniting to Combat NTDs.
