SolarBuddy is a registered Australian charity dedicated to educating and empowering the next generation to change the lives of children living in energy poverty through its innovative programs. Our mission is to improve the educational opportunities of six-million children living without access to modern electricity throughout the world by 2030, by providing them with innovative solar light solutions to help them continue to study after dusk.
SolarBuddy is proud to partner with Global Citizen and participate in a global movement to end extreme poverty. In the lead up to the festival SolarBuddy and Global Citizen will deliver 6,000 solar lights, assembled and donated by the Flight Centre Foundation and Australian school students, to children living in energy poverty across South Africa. The gift of a solar light will help the children to continue studying after dusk improving their educational outcomes and overall health and wellbeing.
