Rutgers works tirelessly for the rights of people to make their own choices in the area of sexuality and reproductive health. Their work is characterised by the inclusive and active approach they adopt to sexual education, improved access to contraception, safe abortion, and the prevention of sexual violence. Their focus in this regard is on young people up to the age of thirty. Rutgers operates in eighteen countries. The organisation comprises 120 professionals based in the Netherlands and Indonesia.
Rutger's strategy is one of empowering young people towards happy and healthy lives. Their aim is to contribute to improving the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of all. This aligns with Global Citizen's work towards achieving the Global Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, and Goal 5: Gender Equality.
