The Girls’ Education Challenge, funded by the UK Department for International Development, is investing £300M in the education of a million of the world’s poorest girls. 37 projects in 18 countries work to enable girls to learn through better schools and teaching, and greater community engagement. The GEC also offers a valuable global resource on how to overcome the barriers which keep the most marginalised girls out of school and hinder their learning, especially in high-risk environments.
