One thing that has been made crystal clear in the last 18 months: women and girls deserve, and now demand, to be treated as equals. This has played out in the #MeToo and SheDecides movements to safeguard the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women; with an increased recognition of women as leaders for empowerment and gender equality, and a renewed focus on how women and girls are treated differently in every aspect of life — in school, by governments, by health systems, and in the workplace. Today, citizens around the world are standing up for female empowerment and gender equality to ensure health, education and opportunity for girls and women everywhere.
Because we know that when girls and women are empowered — when She Is Equal — she can get an education, decide when to get married and start a family, and get proper healthcare.
Take action to ensure that #SheIsEqual.
