Some questions are so simple, yet so big, you get tongue-tied when asked them. A thousand ideas holler for attention and end up leaving your mind blank.

Oftentimes, these questions are saved especially for interviews: How would you describe yourself? What do you want in 10 years? Do you have any questions for us?

"What does it mean to be a global citizen?" is evidently the exception to the rule. Thousands of people responded to the request to describe what it means to be a global citizen, and the responses were nothing less than clear, confident and inspiring.

For me, being a global citizen means thinking about more than yourself. It means realizing that we're all connected to one another in this emerging global community. It means protecting the environment, uplifting the vulnerable and advocating for equality.
