Global Citizen celebrated the new year in New York with people from around the world as the official charitable partner of the Times Square New Year’s Eve 2016.

During the festivities, co-founder and CEO Hugh Evans shared his belief that extreme poverty will end by 2030. For this to happen, everyone has to embrace the Global Goals—all 17 of them

Hugh is most passionate about goal is #4, Quality Education, because he thinks that the 62 million girls currently denied access to schools deserve the resources to learn and prosper.

Watch the video below to see the rest of Hugh's interview, how the roaring crowd in Times Square reacted to the Global Goals and the awesome montage of supporters from around the world that played on the jumbotron.

Now make one (or all) of the Global Goals your New Year's resolution by going to TAKE ACTION NOW.
