Perth, your next night of live music could start with taking action.

The Teskey Brothers will headline Global Citizen Nights: Perth on October 20, 2026, with performances by South Summit and Ruby Rodgers. The free, ticketed event will bring music, culture, and storytelling to Riverside Theatre at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre — and Global Citizens can earn tickets by taking action here.

The evening will close Global Citizen NOW: Perth, an international action summit taking place October 18–20.

It also marks Global Citizen’s first return to Perth in 15 years, following the End of Polio concert in 2011.

Who Is Performing at Global Citizen Nights: Perth?

For Josh Teskey, the invitation is an opportunity to contribute to something that reaches beyond the stage.

“It’s a real honour to be invited to play at Global Citizen Nights: Perth. What Global Citizen is doing is so much bigger than music, so it’s pretty special to be able to contribute in a small way,” he said.

“We’re really grateful to be part of it, and looking forward to getting up there and playing some tunes to close this really special event.”

Alongside the performances, the evening will celebrate leaders, communities, and commitments helping accelerate the global energy transition and advance energy security, clean industry development, and economic opportunity across the Indo-Pacific. It will also honor local trailblazers working on energy resilience, nature protection, and education in Perth and across the region.

Why Is Clean Energy at the Heart of the Event?

A reliable electricity supply can change what is possible in everyday life: a health facility can keep essential equipment running, students can study after dark, and businesses can power the tools they need to grow.

That connection between energy and opportunity is central to Global Citizen NOW: Perth. The summit will rally commitments to expand reliable, affordable electricity to up to 4 million homes globally, while spotlighting Western Australia’s potential as a renewable energy powerhouse.

The ambition is about the conditions that make energy access possible, too: investment, infrastructure, partnerships, and practical solutions that can reach communities and support long-term development.

Leaders from government, business, philanthropy, First Nations communities, and civil society will gather to discuss how to turn Western Australia’s renewable energy advantages into opportunities ready for investment, strengthen energy security, and expand electricity access across the region.

Who Is Joining Global Citizen NOW: Perth?

Newly announced summit participants include Ian Thorpe, Australian Olympian; musician John Butler, who will deliver a keynote address; Perth Scorchers Captain Ashton Turner; Sabrina Dhowre Elba; and Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The expanded lineup also includes Western Australia’s Minister for State Development and Economic Diversification David Michael; Shadow Minister for Energy and Industrial Relations Steve Thomas; Palau’s Minister of Justice Jennifer S Olegeriil; Canva’s Head of Sustainability Megan Born; and Indigenous Desert Alliance CEO Samantha Murray. South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola will join virtually. Ruby Rodgers will also participate in the summit.

They will join previously announced speakers including Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne, Western Australian Premier Roger Cook, and Fremantle Dockers Captain Alex Pearce.

Kevin Rudd, International Energy Agency Executive Director Dr. Fatih Birol, and United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed will join virtually.

The summit will open on Sunday, October 18, at The University of Western Australia’s Winthrop Hall, with opening remarks from Western Australian Premier Roger Cook and Perth Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds.
