When the world talks about polio eradication, everyone needs to celebrate the work of organisations like The Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Not to mention donor countries who help fund vaccination programmes. Without these groups, the world could not have wiped out over 99% of the disease.

But the world should never forget the unsung heros of polio eradication- the vaccinators on the ground. These are the people that are making eradication a reality. It’s not an easy task. Volunteers, often school teachers or doctors, trail some of the most dangerous, hard to reach places on this earth, so no child is left behind.

The video above brings home exactly how hard it can be to reach every child with vaccinations. Give it a watch, then take action by tweeting The UK Prime Minister David Cameron, the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the new Canadian Prime Minister-Designate Justin Trudeau. It’s important that they take the opportunity to recommit to ending polio at this November's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. That way vaccinators like Ahmed in the video stand a strong chance of winning the race against polio.

Go to TAKE ACTION NOW to urge commonwealth leaders to commit to ending polio.
