George Stroumboulopoulos has been talking to Canadians for decades about pop culture, politics and now hockey. This guy knows Canada, but when he came to the Global Citizen Festival we found out that he’s got a great message when it comes to ending extreme poverty and how we can all be more involved.

Strombo is clearly a global citizen at heart because his message is that we can all have an impact on ending extreme poverty and countries can do more by looking beyond their borders to help the world’s poor.

He encourages people everywhere to start by taking an interest in global issues and getting involved by joining Global Citizen and taking actions around the Global Goals.

One thing that Canadians can do right now is take action with #PoliticsAisde. Our partners at Engineers Without Borders and ONE have created this amazing and simple tool that allows Canadians to connect with the candidates in their ridings to tell them to put politics aside and support ending global poverty.

It only takes 2 minutes. Take action now at www.politicsaside.ca/act
