Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you probably heard that something beautiful happened in Australia this week:
Though a bill must still be passed through parliament, Aussies voted overwhelmingly in favor of legalizing same sex marriage in the Land Down Under.
Now, people are freaking out all over the internet.
The people of Australia have spoken and I intend to make their wish the law of the land by Christmas. This is an overwhelming call for marriage equality. pic.twitter.com/PWZbH5H71r— Malcolm Turnbull (@TurnbullMalcolm) November 14, 2017

To everyday citizens proud of what they’ve achieved:
Was shaking when I finally summoned the courage to come out to dad years ago. He was supportive, but quiet. Later, we had a huge fight about gay marriage and didn’t talk for months.— David Mack (@davidmackau) November 14, 2017
He just sent me this. pic.twitter.com/Ap4akaZ6Ah
I found Yvonne Gardner, 75, an lgbti campaigner, almost in tears. She clings my arm, and whispers in my ear; "I've been fighting for this for 50 years". #LoveWins@heldavidsonpic.twitter.com/gp3sXRFS1v— Melissa Davey (@MelissaLDavey) November 15, 2017
From all of us at Global Citizen, G’day Australia!
