Whether the combination of the words “Valentine’s” and “Day” makes you want to scream or smile, it's an occasion that puts love at the centre of the world’s attention.

That’s why the Climate Coalition is asking people to #showthelove for life on earth this Valentine’s Day, celebrating the people, places and life we each want to protect from climate change. Backed by a wide range of organisations across the UK including:  WWF-UK, ActionAid, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the National Trust, The Women’s Institute and Christian Aid, the coalition aims to inspire people everywhere to turn their hearts green for a cleaner world.

Actors Jeremy Irons & Maxine Peake, “War Horse” author Michael Morpurgo, Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman and director Stuart Rideout of Ridley Scott Associates have therefore joined forces to make a "I Wish for You…" , a moving film about a grandfather’s poignant last letter to his granddaughter. Taking the viewer on a journey through forests, fields and oceans, the video reminds us why life here is worth protecting.

Building on the momentum generated around COP21, the #showthelove campaign is a reminder of the commitments made in 2015, and an invitation to people everywhere to create a world that is 100% clean.
