Don’t know if you’ll be able to #shOwup to the 2016 Global Citizen Festival in New York City this September? Well, Global Citizen Rewards has a ton more concert tickets to give away. In the past, more than 275 of your favorite artists and comedians across the globe have participated in our rewards program.

Global Citizen Rewards sprouted from an initiative back in 2013 between Kelly Curtis, Manager for Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam, and Global Poverty Project CEO, Hugh Evans. The idea was to bring people together for social change and in return reward them with music. Meet Grant C. –– he’s won tickets to see several of his favorite bands through Global Citizen Rewards! He's one of many Global Citizens who has exchanged points from taking action year-round to win free tickets to the hundreds of concerts and events that Global Citizen Rewards offers. To spread the word about the experience Grant and others have had through Global Citizen Rewards we’ll be featuring short interviews with past Rewards winners on the Global Citizen website.

GC: Tell us about yourself.

Grant: My name is Grant Cochran. I'm from Denver, Colorado and I'm currently a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder. I have a strong passion for music, love traveling, and am a proud global citizen.

GC: Which concert/event(s) have you attended?

Grant: Bastille, Grizfolk, Black Sabbath, and WAVVES

GC: Wow! You've really cashed in your earned points. Which concert was your favorite?

Grant: Grizfolk

GC: Tell us about it. Who'd you bring? How was it?

Grant: Grizfolk played a killer show at the Lost Lake Lounge and Max Frost also had an amazing opening set. Grizfolk had the crowd going nuts from start to finish. I brought my girlfriend to the show and Grizfolk's drummer gave her a drumstick. Overall an amazing show!

GC: What issues surrounding extreme poverty interest you most?

Grant: Food & Hunger; Water & Sanitation

GC: What was the most meaningful action have you taken to help combat global challenges?

Grant: I went to Japan for three months to help the victims living in government housing due to the devastating 2011 earthquake.
