Sarah Harrison, a high-school student from Connecticut, doesn’t just share her last name with one of the Beatles. The young artist also emulates John Lennon, utilizing her artistic abilities to “imagine all the people, living life as one.”

Harrison entered and won Google Doodle’s “What do you see for the future?” digital drawing contest with a heartwarming illustration of eight diverse people. Each wears a vibrant t-shirt revealing worldly symbols of religion, gender identity, and science that, taken together, spell out “Google.”

Her image is simply titled “A Peaceful Future,” and it’s beautiful. Her inspiration came from the divides she currently sees in the world.

“When I started, I was thinking of how there’s a lot of animosity toward diverse communities of people in the world right now,” Harrison said. “So I wanted to draw something that I hoped would show that we can all get along well, and that it’s possible for us to be happy with each other.”

Now, her image is being shared all over the world, accomplishing just what she had hoped.

Harrison is a true global citizen, who remains optimistic for a brighter future in spite of darkness and hateful rhetoric toward people of different backgrounds.

“You don’t know what they’ve been through — and they don’t know what you’ve been through — so we all deserve respect from each other,” Harrison told the Washington Post.

Her stunning illustration reminds us all that there is beauty in diversity and there is always hope for the future.
