Killing it once again, the Daily Show with John Stewart has added a new contributor who has taken an insightful and hilarious spin through current events in the United States and lampoons Americans prejudices towards Africa.

New contributor Trevor Noah, hails from South Africa and admits that he was nervous coming to his first gig on the Daily Show because….of the Ebola in America.  Pointing out that his home of South Africa is 4,000 miles away from the outbreak in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea and unlike the United States has not had a case of the deadly disease in 18 years. (As an aside, my colleague Tom Blake has explained why you shouldn’t panic about Ebola in the US-but I’m sure we’re all on the same page already)

This exchange at 1:05 comes after an on point comparison of racism in South Africa (yes, that country that had institutionalized racism) and racism in the United States.  His line “Progress” had me falling on the floor.

But the real gem of this first time Daily Show contributor is his “Spot the Africa” game at 2:20.  This game should be a permanent feature (hmmm, I wonder if we can do that on GC….. I mean).

Yes, John Stewart, you and your Daily Show team have done it once again. I hope this is just the beginning for Trevor Noah. We need more comedians bringing this perspective to global audiences (and politicians, and commentators, and people, and-well I digress).

Enjoy, and let us know what you think in the comments.
