For everyone unable to attend the 2015 Global Citizen Festival, don’t worry. Global Citizen has invited a brilliant, charming team of contributors to liveblog the event.

They’ll be providing moment-to-moment commentary, context for major commitments and global issues, reflections, funny remarks and generally a fun environment.

You can watch the livestream here.

So anytime you’re like, “wait, what just happened?” and don't want to do research or scour social media, the liveblog will have your back with background information, videos, behind-the-scenes content, tweets from celebrities and attendees and more.

When you want to relive a moment, or get some context, just scroll down from the livestream and read what our livebloggers are saying or pulling from everyone following the festival.

So before the festival begins, get to know your livebloggers a bit:

Garth Moore, Digital Director of ONE Campaign

Garth is ONE’s US Digital Director, managing digital strategies and social media and managing ONE’s US/Canada website. He previously worked at 1Sky, a climate advocacy organization and the ASPCA. He has worked as a consultant for Charity Dynamics, the ACLU, and Changing Our World.

Garth has degrees from Johns Hopkins University and the University of New Mexico. He loves following nonprofits, social/political causes, baseball, literature, and music on social media.

What are you looking forward to at the festival?

I look forward to seeing all the dogooders celebrating the new #GlobalGoals and taking the next steps to end extreme poverty. Oh, and Pearl Jam. #old

What is your favorite Global Goal and why?

That’s like picking your favorite child. I love them all! But, obviously, #1, No Poverty, is very important to ONE and #7 Energy is super critical with the Energize Africa bills in Congress right now.

Joan Hanawi, Founder of Nova Narratives and Alumnus of Global Citizen Year

As the daughter of Indonesian immigrants, both the concept of our world’s interconnectivities and the idea of global citizenship were introduced to Joan from birth. She was enchanted by cross-cultural stories, and as she grew older, she seized the opportunity to dive into international development after high school by taking a gap year with Global Citizen Year.

In the past year, Joan started a digital storytelling project called Nova Narratives. The definition of the word “nova” is the sudden brightening of a previously inconspicuous star, and the mission of Nova Narratives is to highlight the lives and voices of previously inconspicuous people. If she doesn’t get distracted by any other projects, Joan will be graduating from UCLA in March with a joint B.A. in International Development Studies and Geography/Environmental Studies.

What are you looking forward to at the Global Citizen Festival?

At the Global Citizen Festival, I’m looking forward to connecting with the thousands of other people passionate about igniting positive social change. It always amazes me to see people put aside differences and unite for a common cause. And with this year’s lineup, who wouldn’t want to take a day to hang out with Beyoncé and Michelle Obama?

What your favorite Global Goal is and why?

I come from a family of nerds. From a young age, my parents inspired a passion for learning. As I grew older and started to work in different communities—inner city Los Angeles to the Ecuadorian Amazon to urban Indonesia—I realized that, unfortunately, quality education is a luxury that not all individuals have access to. Education, however, is key to providing the foundation for solving a number of other global challenges.

I love that Global Goal 4 promotes not only quality education, but also lifelong learning opportunities for all. Currently, I’m a student at UCLA, but I don’t want my learning to stop when I graduate in March. As we work together to achieve these global goals, I hope that no one around the globe will ever have to stop learning.

Tom Murphy, Senior Editor of Global Citizen’s DAWNS Digest

Tom Murphy is a reporter for news site Humanosphere. Before joining Humanosphere, Tom founded and edited the aid blog A View From the Cave. His work has appeared in Foreign Policy, the Huffington Post, the Guardian, GlobalPost and Christian Science Monitor. He tweets at @viewfromthecave.

What are you looking forward to at the festival?

I'm looking forward to somebody taking the stage and issuing a challenge to the world's most powerful people, governments, NGOs, and corporations.

What's your favorite goal and why?

My favorite goal is number 10 because achieving significant and lasting reductions on inequality requires making major changes in the balance of power between rich and poor at international and human levels. Those changes will enable the achievement of many of the other goals.

That's a strong core team with diverse perspectives, all eager to see the Global Goals succeed.

Global Citizen content writers Meghan Werft, Nicki Fleischner and myself will also be providing commentary.

Thanks in advance for watching the show with us and I hope you have a great time!
