Did you know that 2015 is a landmark year for international development? This is the year to shape how the next 15 years of development assistance can reach the poorest communities worldwide!

In September, governments from every corner of the globe are expected to agree on a new global initiative called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that will serve as the framework for global development initiatives and investment over the next 15 years. These targets will lay out what the world wants to achieve when it comes to reducing poverty, promoting well-being, advancing education, fostering gender equality, improving global partnerships and building a more just and environmentally stable world.

The SDGs will also include safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). The question is, how ambitious will that goal be?

Now more than ever, your voice is crucial to get our government to act, and to be the world leader we know that we can be. What happens in September will guide the next 15 years of global poverty reduction efforts. In other words, it’s really important to get it right!

Help us make sure that everyone, everywhere gets access to safe drinking water, toilets and hygiene services by 2030 by going to the TAKE ACTION NOW and urging the US government to advocate for these basic needs within the global Sustainable Development Goals.
