My bucket list is pretty out there. Hip hop karaoke with the Queen and a cappuccino with Emma Watson all seem relatively unachievable since they refuse to return my phone calls. But my inner Kate Winslet is squealing with excitement today. We’re all just one plastic piece of paper away from lunch with an idol.
For the highly competitive price of just £5, you are in with the chance of lunching with the one and only Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio will be in Scotland in a few weeks time to help the homeless, and is offering the VIP experience to raise money for the cause. The competition is being run with a restaurant called Home, alongside charity sandwich shop Social Bite and Maison Bleue. The money you give will help buy a meal for somebody living on the streets.
DiCaprio, a true global citizen, is renowned for his work fighting climate change. He’s gone from crashing icebergs to keeping them afloat, as he’s crossed continents to meet world leaders as a UN Messenger for Peace. This week, National Geographic will air his new climate change documentary ‘Before The Flood’, and for the first time in the channel’s history, it will play without any advertisements.
The only questions remaining are the ones you’ll need to plan before lunch. Like, does he ever listen to Celine Dion in private? What did Bill Murray whisper in Scarlett Johansson’s ear at the end of Lost in Translation? Was the dress blue or gold?
If you win the lunch, you’ll also receive an overnight stay at The George Hotel, first class rail travel within Scotland to Edinburgh, a shopping trip, and a very expensive bottle of champagne. Who says social change can’t be done in style? The lucky winner will be announced November 11th. You can enter online here.
