Last night was a big night for Daily Show fans.

In addition to addressing the Charleston shooting, host Jon Stewart was joined by Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and education activist.

Malala has been on the show before, and while I was impressed by her composure and intellect the last time, this time it was fun to see a lighter side to her.

During the segment, Jon and Malala spoke about the release of her new documentary, He Named Me Malala, and joked about school exams and family life. Jon even passed along some advice to the teenager, suggesting that she work on her resume and add some extracurriculars to help her get into college. Malala reassured Jon she had already thought about it and was planning on getting some work experience. It was pretty cute.

Now moving onto the big announcement today, a trailer for Malala’s new film hit Facebook.

Directed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth), He Named Me Malala is the story of Malala’s journey as an education activist, as well as the story of those closest  to her- her family. The trailer for the documentary has been released on the Facebook page of the Malala Fund, the organization Malala co-founded to help girls go to school and raise their voices for the right to education. And, just like her interview on the Daily Show, it looks like we’ll be seeing a different side of Malala that we rarely get to see- the ordinary girl behind the public figure.

Jon referenced this in the interview as well, saying,

“In some ways the world has been somewhat unfair to you, in that it has placed a burden upon you, that you are somehow an ethereal creature that somehow must save us. And I think what’s nice about the film is to see you as, you see yourself, an ordinary girl, maybe representing thousands of ordinary girls whose courage is the same in Pakistan and all over the world.”
