Jelly Roll has been making his mark on the music industry, but he’s not stopping there. The Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year is performing at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Sept. 28, 2024 and calling on fans to make the world a better place for all.
Every year, the Global Citizen Festival is held in Central Park to drive urgent action on some of the world’s most pressing policy demands. This year, the festival’s primary policy goals are boiled down into three pillars of action: Defeat Poverty, Defend the Planet, and Demand Equity. Renowned artists, politicians, activists, and organizations will come together on Sept. 28, 2024 to drive action on these critical issues.
Jelly Roll will be taking the Global Citizen Festival stage for the first time to perform his soulful songs alongside Post Malone, Doja Cat, LISA, Rauw Alejandro, Benson Boone, and RAYE. The Grammy-nominated country music star rose to fame with his 2020 single “Save Me” and has since been using his platform to advocate for issues he cares most about.
In January this year, Jelly Roll appeared before Congress to share his personal journey with drug use and express his support for an anti-fentanyl law. As someone who overcame addiction and imprisonment, Jelly Roll spoke from the heart about all the loved ones he’s lost as a result of the US fentanyl crisis.
“I was a part of the problem,” he said. “I am here now, standing as a man that wants to be a part of the solution.”
Jelly Roll is now joining Global Citizen to advocate for an end to extreme poverty. Around the world, 1 in 11 people are going hungry as a result of ongoing conflicts, worsening climate change, and rising food prices. Jelly Roll is driving action around the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, which is an opportunity for world leaders to transform food systems and address inequalities that are escalating food crises.
Gear up for Jelly Roll’s performance with an exclusive Global Citizen Fest 2024 Jelly Roll T-shirt, and join him and thousands of people who have already taken action in the movement to eliminate hunger and extreme poverty.
