Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the Global Citizen and PayPal Small Business Impact Awards, applicants must:

• Be the owner, founder, or CEO of the business, actively involved in its strategic or operational direction
• Operate a small-to-medium-sized business, typically with fewer than 50 full-time employees or under $1 million USD in annual revenue (subject to local standards)
• Have been operating for at least three years
• Serve a local community, with tangible contributions such as: Supporting local nonprofits or causes, participating in community development or local partnership, implementing sustainable practices that benefit the local environment or economy and creating jobs or training opportunities for local residents.

Eligibility Exclusions
Although applications from all markets will be considered, note that franchises or businesses affiliated with national/international chains are not eligible. The focus is on independent, locally owned enterprises making a direct difference in their communities. Additionally, businesses must not be affiliated with any entities under US sanctions or those restricted by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
