Anything, right?

But what would you be willing to spend to save another child's life? How about $1.80?

It's hard to believe so little could mean the difference between life and death, but with the help of UNICEF USA and Kiwanis International lives are being saved for less than we spend on our morning lattes.

Ever heard of Maternal/ Neonatal Tetanus or MNT? MNT is caused when tetanus spores (found in the soil) come into contact with open cuts during childbirth. It's a disease that disproportionately affects people living in poverty, people who are geographically hard to reach, and people with limited access to health care. MNT kills one baby every nine minutes following childbirth, causing newborns to suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. Tetanus can also be deadly to new mothers.

Fortunately, MNT can be stopped. With just three doses of an immunization, mothers will be protected and pass on their immunity to their future children. Sounds easy right?

Well, almost. To truly eliminate MNT more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized, but in order to accomplish this we need strong commitment from the global community.

Today, 22 million children still don't have access to basic vaccines, and as a result 1 in 5 lose their lives to vaccine-preventable diseases before turning 5.
