Last year during Fair Trade Fortnight the New Zealand Parliament became the first in the southern hemisphere to make the switch to Fair Trade by attaining Fair Trade Workplace accreditation, not shabby an effort for a small nation in the Pacific!

We Kiwi’s have a habit of leading the way and whilst we were thinking it over in the office we thought, what if we could get every Kiwi MP to use Fair Trade products in their electoral and parliamentary offices?

It sounds like a big step but in 2012 Kiwis consumed over 24 million cups of Fairtrade Certified coffee, making a big difference to producers such as Highland Organic in Papua New Guniea.

We want you to join us in marking this milestone and further challenging our MP’s to use Fair Trade products within their own communities. Imagine the impact of having MP’s all over the country sharing the effect that Fair Trade is having on producers around the world. And its a simple as sharing an email or social media post to your local or list MP.

The steps are simple

Together lets make this the fairest fortnight yet! Its the #powerofyou!
