As Bono, social activist and U2 lead singer, explains, “The world is more malleable than you think and it’s waiting for you to hammer it into shape.” Since 2011, Global Citizens like you have raised your voice to call on world leaders to commit to end polio forever.

Polio cases have been reduced by 99% since 1988 and the world stands on the brink of eradication.

And, the United States Government’s financial commitment to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative was recently increased! The FY2014 budget for polio includes an increase of $54.2 million from the funding allocated to polio eradication programs in the previous year!

Senator Blunt serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee and plays a key role in deciding whether or not the United States will be a player in the fight to end polio. As Senator Blunt sets the budget priorities for 2015, we must ensure that funding for this vital program is secured.

Tweet @RoyBlunt and thank him for his contribution and to ask him to ensure that the United States makes a long term commitment to ending polio.
