As a Congresswoman, Kay Granger makes huge decisions about how much money our Government invests in increasing access to education for the world’s poorest kids.

Last summer, Rep. Granger filmed a short video for Global Citizens about why increasing access to education around the world is important. Rep. Granger said, “I travel a great deal and I have witnessed what it is like in countries that don’t value universal education.”

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is working to increase access to education. But they need our help. GPE has just announced that they will be raising $3.5 billion to provide essential support for basic education over four years. We have the opportunity to ensure that 16 million children, most of them girls, can go to school.

Rep. Granger explains that, “The way out of poverty, the way that democracy is created, the way to extend opportunities to every global citizen, is through education. Your continued commitment to this cause will help ensure that all children in any class, in any country, can have a shot at education.”

Global Citizens in Texas have sent over 600 emails asking Kay Granger to support the replenishment of the Global Partnership for Education. Let’s keep up the momentum.

Tweet at Kay Granger and remind her to ensure that the United States Government funds and supports the Global Partnership for Education.
