The last two decades have been the most successful in history in the fight against poverty: the share of people living in extreme poverty has been cut in half worldwide, from 43% in 1990 to under 20% today. People are living longer, healthier lives and many nations that were once aid recipients are now self-sufficient. The idea that the problem is insolvable is a myth that slows down the work.
