I have a confession to make. Global Citizen has a huge crush on Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness. They’ve both been involved with Global Citizen for quite some time now, and they were the official hosts (alongside Stephen Colbert) at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival.

That’s why when I heard that Hugh and Deb (yeah, we’re definitely not on a nickname basis) starred in a documentary about fair trade coffee, I needed to watch it.

The film, Dukale’s Dream, follows Hugh and Deborra on a trip to Ethiopia, where they initially travel as ambassadors for World Vision Australia. After forming a relationship with a coffee farmer named Dukale, their short trip turns into a six year journey to teach others about the importance of fair trade coffee.

I had a chance to chat with the director of Dukale’s Dream, Josh Rothstein, about the making of the film, the truth behind fair trade, and what it’s like to work with this amazing husband and wife duo.

Check out my interview with Josh, and click here to find out how you can watch Dukale’s Dream!
