This week the Global Moms Relay kicked off!

The campaign is a worldwide initiative launched by the United Nations Foundation and Johnson & Johnson in 2013 to put moms and dads at the forefront of the discussion of how to tackle the world’s most pressing issues and then take action on those issues.

And Global Citizen in partnership with Johnson & Johnson has a special addition to the campaign this year: You can raise money just by submitting your thoughts.

It’s important for moms all over the globe to be appreciated and contribute their ideas, insight, and powerful encouragement to solving the world’s largest problems. That’s why we launched a community platform on Global Citizen to continue the discussion about how amazing mothers truly are.

Between May 4th and June 17th – a time range covering both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in the US. You can contribute an answer to this year’s theme question:

“What do you wish were true for every child, everywhere?”

And if you don’t want to write your own answer, you can check out others and still raise money.

Every time you like or share an article from the Global Moms Relay, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 per social media action, (up to $350,000) to one of five causes of five causes (Shot@Life, Girl Up, Let Girls Learn, US Fund for UNICEF, or Nothing But Nets) that help improve lives for moms and babies around the world.

So check out the new community space at http://community.globalcitizen.org/ and learn, share and explore the experiences of other global citizens and activists like Kristin Bell

What else can you do?

There are many ways to support the Global Moms Relay. One way is to download the Johnson & Johnson Donate a Photo app and donate a photo to of the cause’s partners. Each photo you upload within the app will unlock $1 for a cause of your choice. Check out https://www.donateaphoto.com/ to learn more about the app.

Use the hashtag #GlobalMoms and #JNJ to spread the word.

So get involved- submitting your thoughts, taking photos or just sharing what inspires you can make a better world for mothers and their children.
