Why Global Citizens Should Care
Tackling COVID-19 requires the whole world to unite behind the urgent and critical need to develop and distribute tests, treatments, and vaccines against COVID-19, and ensure these tools are made available to everyone, everywhere. We must also work to lessen the impacts of COVID-19 on the world’s most vulnerable and the root causes of extreme poverty, such as hunger, gender inequality, and more. Join the movement by taking action here to support the Global Goal: Unite for Our Future campaign

On June 27, the international community will unite in the effort to eradicate COVID-19 for everyone, everywhere, in a day of action that will bring Global Goal: Unite for Our Future — The Summit & The Concert to audiences all around the world.

Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the Concert will feature performances from Shakira, Coldplay, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Quavo, J Balvin, Chloe x Halle, Yemi Alade, Christine and the Queens, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Original Broadway Cast of HAMILTON with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, J’Nai Bridges with Gustavo Dudamel, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles), and the For Love Choir.

There will also be appearances from Chris Rock, Hugh Jackman, Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Forest Whitaker, David Beckham, Salma Hayek Pinault, Billy Porter, Diane Kruger, Antoni Porowski, Ken Jeong, Naomi Campbell, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Olivia Colman.

The Concert will follow the Summit — which will stream earlier in the day at 3 p.m. SAST — giving world leaders, philanthropists, and corporates the opportunity to make new financial commitments to support the organisations leading the global response to COVID-19.

These commitments will help drive forward the development of the tools needed to fight COVID-19, as well as ensuring that these tests, treatments, and vaccines reach everybody, including people of colour, those living in extreme poverty, and all communities facing discrimination.

This is a core aim of the Global Goal: Unite for Our Future campaign, alongside mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on the world’s most vulnerable people across issues like access to education, clean water, and more.
