The champagne, the crowds, the singing, and of course the ball drop. These are the iconic images of New Year’s Eve in New York City’s Time Square. This year, the celebration will have one more major feature: Global Citizen.

The co-organizers of Times Square New Year’s Eve The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment have chosen Global Citizen as the official charitable partner for the 2016 celebration.

"2016 is an incredibly important year seeing world leaders come together to make good on their commitment to adopt the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development.” said Hugh Evans, CEO of the Global Poverty Project, and co-founder of the Global Citizen movement. “We are honoured to stand with the Times Square Alliance to celebrate 2016's opportunity to effect real change around the world and reach our goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030.”

Global Citizen is partnering with Times Square to mark the kick off of the Global Goals in 2016. And because global citizens like you have helped campaign to make the Global Goals a reality, we want to invite two of you to join in the festivities in Times Square as our guests!
