Humankind can create a world our children will be proud to inherit.

This September, world leaders from 193 countries will announce new Global Goals designed to fight inequality, protect our planet and end extreme poverty by 2030.              Building on extraordinary momentum over the past 15 years, these Goals carry the promise of equal rights and opportunity for women and men. The promise to live a healthy and dignified life. The promise for every child to survive and thrive.

But they cannot be achieved by the words and slogans of politicians alone. The world needs an unwavering call for action from every global citizen.

The 2015 Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park will channel the power of global citizens lending their voices for change and justice. This event is a critical lever for achieving policy and financial commitments that will shape the success of the Global Goals.

Great change has always been led by a movement of the people - from opposing the transatlantic slave trade, to securing the right to vote for women, and ending apartheid. 2015 is the year for a new global movement.

A movement of global citizens who see beyond their own borders to take action for a safer, prosperous and more secure world for all of humanity. It’s time for global citizens to call on their politicians in the places where it counts.

Together, global citizens will ensure these Global Goals deliver a just, equitable and healthy world.
