Giving is one of the best feelings in the world. Whether it’s giving to someone you love and care about, or giving a gift that makes the world just a little bit better, it’s all powerful.

After the bustle of Thanksgiving, and the madness that is Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, finally comes Giving Tuesday. It may be the one day left of the Thanksgiving holiday week that gets back to the true meaning of feeling gratitude and expressing generosity.

This is the fifth year of Giving Tuesday, which has only spread through expansion of social media allowing more people to become aware of giving can be, especially for women.

Women who have access to opportunities and tools, like energy, education, and finances, equal to men go on to give back to their community at incredible rates. This is how we can create change for future generations.

Onstage, at this year’s 2016 Global Citizen Festival, Caterpillar donated a generator to Dr. Nathalie Colas, a doctor and Medical Director of the St. Luke Hospital in Haiti. This gift is just one example of the power giving has to empower women, help save lives, and lift economies from poverty.

Colas is not the only one who will benefit from the donated 3500 generator by Caterpillar  to St. Luke Foundation, this will provide reliable energy to over 150,000 people in Haiti - including 32 schools, hospitals and small businesses.

The video above acts as a reminder that when you give, in any way, that act of generosity creates a ripple effect much larger than you might think.
