#EarthToParis, this is about all of us

The 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference is starting November 30th, and Jack Black wants you to know that it isn’t about him. It isn’t about cute animal videos, it isn’t about the pope or saving one tree.

It’s about saving all the trees. It’s about saving the one and only Earth we have.

Since the inception of The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 21 years ago, countries from around the world have been meeting to discuss one of the biggest dangers humanity has ever faced: Climate Change.

Every year they come together and try to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower pollution and work on green energy.

But this year is critical because we need climate action now, and the Paris climate change conference is a can’t miss opportunity for the world to reach a new climate change agreement that launches bigger action.

Our situation is becoming dire. Action needs to happen now. No more dawdling.

Nine out of ten of the warmest years on record have occurred since 2000, and atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are the highest that they’ve been in over 800,000 years.

“This is the turning point,” the video says. “Never before have we had a moment like this. With the awareness, the will and the technology to fight it.”

#EarthToParis is about all of us. Everyone we love, everyone we care about, they’re all affected by global warming. #EarthToParis is more than a hashtag, it’s a movement. It’s about showing the world that we won’t stand idly by as our world is ruined. It’s about telling our leaders to make bold commitments to combat climate change.
