During the first presidential debate Monday night, Hillary Clinton pointed out that Donald Trump had a history of calling women “pigs, slobs, and dogs.” And today Trump  repeated his criticism of women’s bodies.

Here’s what happened.

Last night, Clinton said: “One of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest. He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them. And he called this woman ‘Miss Piggy.’ Then he called her ‘Miss Housekeeping,’ because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name. Her name is Alicia Machado.”

Clinton said that Machado, who won the title of Miss Universe for Venezuela in 1996,  is now a US citizen and will likely be voting in November. She is also campaigning on behalf of Clinton.

Trump then interjected as Clinton spoke, asking her, “Where did you find this? Where did you find this?” in response to the allegations about Machado.

He then explained why he sometimes criticizes women’s looks.

“Some of it's said in entertainment. Some of it's said — somebody who's been very vicious to me, Rosie O'Donnell, I said very tough things to her, and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her,” he said.

Trump and O’Donnell have a decades-old feud, during which Trump has called O’Donnell a “degenerate,” a “slob,” a “loser,” and a “fat pig,” according to NBC News. O’Donnell has called Trump an “orange anus” and an “orange slug.”

Clinton and Trump then moved on to discussing whether they would support the opposing candidate if he or she were to win, and the comments about women were left behind.

But not for long.

This morning, Trump appeared on “Fox & Friends” to discuss the debate, and he again discussed Machado.

“She was the worst we ever had,” he said, according to the Huffington Post. “She was a winner, and she gained a massive amount of weight, and we had a real problem. We had a real problem with her.”

A commercial released by the Clinton campaign featuring Machado shows footage from an interview Trump gave in 1996, when he invited reporters to watch Machado working out. He says that Machado had “weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went to 160 or 170. So this is somebody that likes to eat.”

In the commercial, Machado calls the comments “humiliating” and said the episode caused her a lot of pain and led to a long battle with eating disorders. She told Inside Edition earlier this year that she actually gained closer to 15 pounds — not 40 — and that Trump’s comments made her feel “very depressed.”

According to the Huffington Post, Trump had previously called Machado an “eating machine” and told her to lose weight.

Machado Tweeted Monday night thanking Clinton for the shoutout and writing in Spanish, “I’m with you!”
