Hugh Evans, Justine Lucas, and Judith Rowland of the Global Poverty Project

Earlier this week, members of the Global Poverty Project braved the cold weather and made the four and a half hour drive from New York City to Washington, DC for an exciting night in the nation's Capitol.

The purpose of the mini road-trip was this: to meet with partners, Members of Congress, and Congressional staff in an effort to strengthen the movement to end extreme poverty. The briefing only lasted a couple of hours, but a lot was accomplished. Members of GPP's team had the opportunity to speak about the non-profit's work in the sector, Global Citizen Ambassador Soledad O'Brien, alongside Members of Congress who work with GPP, also spoke out on the important work they've been doing.

The aim of the briefing was two-fold: one, to strengthen relationships between partners, Congress, and GPP, and, two, to continue to advance the agenda to end extreme poverty on Capitol Hill.  All in all, it was an incredible night.
