Are you ready to belt “Beautiful Things” at the top of your lungs at the Global Citizen Festival on Sept. 28? Benson Boone sure is. And he’ll also be taking the stage to call on everyone to take action for a better world.

The breakthrough artist will be performing at the annual music festival for the first time this year alongside Post Malone, Doja Cat, LISA, Jelly Roll, Rauw Alejandro, and RAYE. Held in Central Park, the Global Citizen Festival aims to drive urgent action on some of the world’s most pressing policy demands. This year, the festival’s primary policy goals are boiled down into three pillars of action: Defeat Poverty, Defend the Planet, and Demand Equity.

“Ending extreme poverty is a responsibility we all share,” Boone said. “I’m grateful to be involved in Global Citizen’s mission by helping those who are living in extreme poverty. I hope we can all come together to take action and make a real difference in the world.”

For Boone, it’s all about protecting the “Beautiful Things” in this world, such as ensuring kids are defended against deadly disease, and the most vulnerable are protected from the devastating consequences of climate change. Boone joined Global Citizen in calling for action on these issues, including with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, an organization that has protected 1 billion children globally against disease and saved countless lives. Join Boone in urging the US government to invest in the resources needed to help reach 500 million children in the next five years with life-saving vaccines.

Another beautiful thing worth protecting is the planet on which we live. 2024 is panning out to be the hottest year on record as a result of deadly and destructive heat waves around the world. Join Boone in calling on world leaders to commit to new ambitious targets to keep global heating below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

All of these initiatives tie into accelerating the fight to reduce poverty. For three decades, poverty rates around the world were declining, but the COVID-19 pandemic cut that progress short and set us back several years. Meanwhile, climate change and food insecurity are impacting the world’s poorest nations the hardest. That’s why it’s so important to urge the World Bank to tackle the debt that many low-income countries face, so they have the resources to respond to crises.

Head to Benson Boone’s Global Citizen Festival action sprint to learn more about these key issues and make a difference. Thousands of people are taking action with Benson Boone — join them in making the world a more sustainable, equitable, and beautiful place.
