Questions about Tweet Actions

I am not receiving credit for my tweet actions

First, let’s make sure that:

  • You have created a Global Citizen account, and are logged in to the correct account.
  • You are clicking the “Tweet Now” button on the action page. If you post the tweet to Twitter without going through the action page, we can’t track that you’ve completed the action!
  • You are following the prompt & successfully logging in to your Twitter account.

If you’re taking the tweet action on your computer:

  • Some users have reported issues using certain browsers. For optimal functionality, we suggest using Google Chrome.
  • If you were able to tweet, but did not receive credit for the action, try deleting your tweet before retrying the action on a different browser.

If you’re taking the tweet action on your phone:

  • Try clearing the cookies on your phone’s browser. Here’s how: Android, Galaxy, IPhone
  • Try taking the tweet action on your computer.
  • If you were able to tweet, but did not receive credit for the action, try deleting your tweet before retrying the action on your computer.
  • If Twitter isn't letting you post the same tweet, try adding an "!" or similar at the end of the tweet.

I don’t have a Twitter account, do I have to make one to enter the draw?

Unless you accumulate enough points (50) to enter the festival draw by taking other actions, you will have to create a Twitter account in order to enter.

Questions about Email Actions

I am not receiving credit for my email actions.

First let’s make sure that:

  • You have created a Global Citizen account, and are logged in to the correct account.
  • You are clicking the “Write Email” button on the action page. If you manually send the email from your account, we cannot track that you’ve completed the action!
  • You have verified your email address. Before you’re able to send your email and receive credit for taking action, you must verify that your email is working and that you have access to it.

Have you unsubscribed from our emails? If you unsubscribe, we cannot send you any emails, including emails relating to the Global Citizen festival! To re-subscribe, send us an email (festival@globalcitizen.org) with the subject line “re-subscribe me!”

Have you checked your spam / promotions folder? Due to certain email providers’ delivery policies, our email might end up in one of these folders.

Questions about Call Actions

I am not receiving credit for my call action.

First let’s make sure that:

  • You are taking this action from a smartphone. Using the internet browser on your smartphone, you will have to navigate to the indicated link on the action page.
  • You are logged on to the correct Global Citizen account. You will have to sign in again to your Global Citizen account. Make sure you’re using the same email address that you’ve used to complete all other actions!
  • You are placing the call by clicking the “Call Now” Button on the action page. If you manually dial the number, we cannot track the action and give you credit!

  • Try refreshing the page, or logging in and out of your Global Citizen account.

I am receiving a busy signal when I place my call.

Keep trying! Due to the high number of calls being placed, you may receive a busy signal, or be placed on hold while you’re call is routed. You will be able to get through eventually!

Entering the Ticket Draw

How do I enter the draw once I’ve completed all of the actions?

Once you have either completed an action journey, or earned enough points (50) to enter the draw, you will have to go back to the main action journey page and confirm your entry.

Can I enter without completing a specific action journey?

Yes, if you’ve accumulated enough points. You must have 50 points to earn one entry into the draw.

How do I know if my entry into the draw was completed successfully?

To check if you successfully entered the draw, navigate to the action journey home-page while logged in to your Global Citizen account. You should see this:

Can I enter the draw more than once?

Yes! You can enter up to 5 times, with each entry requiring the completion of a unique action journey, or by redeeming 50 points.

Don’t enter under lots of different email addresses – that’s cheating, and you’ll run the risk of getting deleted from the draw.

I think I earned tickets during two different prize draws. Is that possible?

Yes! You can enter each of five scheduled ticket draws one time. If you entered any ticket draw and did not win tickets during that draw, your entry remains active for all subsequent draws.

In addition, you can submit a new entry during each of the five scheduled ticket draw periods, so you may have multiple active entries at a time. It is entirely possible to win more than once.

If I’ve already won tickets, am I eligible to win more?

Yes! By completing each action journey, you will have 5 chances to win tickets, even if you’ve already won.

How Ticket Draw Winners are Notified

When is the ticket draw?

We will give away 48,000 free tickets to the 2015 Global Citizen Festival. The dates for these draws are:

  • July 29: 4,000 double passes will be drawn  → Passed
  • August 13: 3,500 double passes will be drawn → Passed
  • August 27: 3,500 double passes will be drawn → Passed
  • September 10: 10,000 double passes will be drawn
  • September 17: 3,000 double passes will be drawn, plus any unclaimed tickets
  • September 21: Re-draw of all unclaimed tickets

How will I know whether or not I’ve won tickets?

You will receive an email from us on the corresponding ticket draw date indicating whether or not you’ve won. Do not be alarmed if you do not see the email first thing in the morning!

I think I’ve missed the email indicating whether or not I’ve won. What can I do?

If you’re certain that you successfully entered the draw and have not received an email from us within 24 hours of the draw, send us an email (festival@globalcitizen.org) and we will work to sort out the issue.

If you have won tickets but did not receive our email, we will extend the deadline to redeem your tickets.

Redeeming your winning code

What do I do with my code once I’ve received it?

Redeeming your code is simple, just follow these steps via ticketmaster.com:

  • Select 2 tickets for General Admission and enter your unique code in the pop up field (it's case sensitive and can only be used once)
  • Double check that you've selected 2 General Admission tickets, and click "Find Tickets."
  • Answer any security questions, and hit "buy" on the menu on the left (remember these are free!)
  • Redeem your tickets by selecting the "Print at Home - Delayed" delivery method - remember, you won't physically receive your tickets until September 23rd, and will not be able to transfer them to your friends until this date!
  • Enter your personal information and select order!
  • Remember to print your tickets at home on September 23rd and bring them to the Global Citizen Festival. Easy!
  • *If you don't have a Ticketmaster account, you'll need to create one and follow the prompts.

I received an email saying I’ve won, but did not receive a code.

Send us an email (festival@globalcitizen.org) with the subject line, “Missing Code.” If you did win, we will follow up to make sure you get your code.
