Soo..I don’t know if you heard but Global Citizen launched the second Festival action journey on the 29th of July 2015.

What is an action journey you ask? Well don’t be fooled by the ‘day’ bit because you can take actions all day everyday, all the way up until the Festival (actually you can take action all day everyday across Global Citizen, it’s just the Festival Journeys that will close by the Festival).

The action journey is an opportunity for you as global citizens to take actions that will bring the world closer to ending extreme poverty by 2030. And while you’re at it, you have the chance to win FREE tickets to the Global Citizen Festival 2015 to hear artists such as Pearl Jam, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay , Beyonce and Ed Sheeran play live in New York City’s iconic Central Park!!

The actions in the 2nd Journey include tweets, petitions emails and a call.  How easy do these sound?  Check out this list of actions below:

Tweets to ask world leaders to end polio for good (the world is  99.9% there in eradicating a disease forever!).

Tweets to get Iceland and Uruguay to step up and empower women at this year’s Festival.

Tweets to end open defecation because 1 billion people around the world are still pooping out in the open, which is causing communities to become sick. This is is unnecessary and preventable.

Emails to get Norway to put more money into education because quite simply a fully educated world means a world without poverty.

Emails to get Sweden to increase their funding for water, sanitation and hygiene.

Signatures for petitions to the G7 to follow through on their commitment to lift 500 million people out of hunger.

Calls and a petition and to get the US Congress to approve the Food Security Act which will change the way food is delivered to people who need it most. Check out this great segment Global Citizen on MSNBC about this issue.

After two days, more than 86, 000 actions have been taken collectively with numbers growing-That’s in just two days!!!

Global citizens have already had some wins with their actions that has the internet buzzing.

This shows global citizens’ voices are being heard. This is a huge accomplishment for all the hard work being done.

You can jump in and lend your voice today. Even if you’ve completed Action Journey 2, action journey 1 is still open and there are special “Days of Action” throughout the summer (which can win you some really special rewards).

So make sure you keep checking the 2015 Global Citizen Festival page for dates of our action journeys, days of action and ticket draws!
