The Global Partnership for education was launched in 2002 as a coalition between donor and developing country partners to ensure accelerated progress towards the Millennium Development Goal of universal primary education by 2015. Although there is some way to go, the GPE is already changing the world in some incredible ways:

1) GPE has helped to get nearly 22 million more children in school, including 10 million girls.

2) 28 developing country partners have succeeded in getting equal numbers of girls and boys to complete primary school...

3) The number of children completing primary education grew an average of 12 percent faster after a developing country partner joined the partnership!

4) GPE has helped train 300,000 teachers!

5) It has also built or rehabilitated 53,000 classrooms.

6) And distributed 50 million textbooks...

7) It has also helped developing countries to increase their domestic financing for education...

8) From 2015-2018 if global governments pledge their support, GPE will be able to get 29 million children through school. 23 million of these will be in fragile and conflict-affected states

This is why it is so vital that the UK Government continues its strong support for the Global Partnership for Education. Take action now by clicking on the button above and telling UK Ministers just how important this is!
