Green jobs are real jobs — in clean energy, farming, transport, and tech — and they can help young people build a better future. But right now, too many young people don’t have the training, tools, or support they need to take part in the green economy.
This year, countries like South Africa, Germany, and France are deciding how they’ll fight climate change — and what they include in their new climate plans. These national plans are due ahead of COP30, the world’s biggest climate summit.
That’s why we’re asking youth everywhere to speak up.
We’re calling on South Africa, Germany, and France to include:
A national green jobs goal in their updated climate plans
Funding to train at least 100,000 young people for green jobs by 2026
Support for Just Transition policies that protect workers and include youth in the clean economy
We’ll collect messages and deliver them directly to the ministers in charge of climate policy in each country — before September, while targets are still being decided.
Your voices will also be shared publicly through Global Citizen’s social media, press, and on stage at key events like Global Citizen Festival and Global Citizen NOW.
In a sentence or two, tell the leaders of South Africa, Germany, and France:
Why green jobs matter to you
What kind of future you want them to fund
And what real target they should set to support young people
The time to act is now — and your message can help shape the plans that shape the planet.
